Coaching Positions

Coaches play a critical role in the personal and athletic development of their athletes.

Coaches are the means through which the values and goals of a sport organization are communicated.

How an athlete regards his or her sport is often dependent on the behaviour of coaches.

To be eligible to become a coach, you must:

  1. Be 16 years of age or older
  2. Be available for the duration of the sport's program. (approx. 6 months for winter sports and 3 months for summer sports)
  3. Take the National Coach Certification Program (NCCP) within your first year.
  4. Demonstrate good sportsmanship and co-operation.
  5. Have a great sense of humour and adventure.
